Maple Soy Blistered Shishito Peppers

Ingredients

  • 1 Pint (8-10 oz) Shishito Peppers
  • 2 T Sesame Oil
  • 2 T Soy Sauce
  • 2 T Fuller's Sugarhouse Maple Syrup
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 T Sesame Seeds

Preparation

  1. Rinse shitshito peppers and poke a small slit in each to create a steam vent.
  2. Heat a pan over medium heat. Once hot, add sesame oil.
  3. Toss peppers in the pan coating them in sesame oil. Cook in a single layer, tossing occasionally, until the skin of the peppers has puffed and starts blacken.
  4. Add soy sauce, Fuller's maple syrup, salt, and sesame seeds. Continue to cook, tossing occasionally for 1-2 minutes, letting the sauce slightly reduce.
  5. Add peppers to a serving plate or dish and drizzle with the maple soy sauce from the pan. Serve while hot.
